It all boils down to this verse.

We know God is the protector, defender, and Almighty One.

We know of His compassion and goodness. We know that He desires for all to hear and believe.

But when it’s all said and done, we need His salvation. I’m not just talking about the eternal salvation He so freely gives, but the day-to-day Savior we desperately need.

We need His spirit to guard our minds from wayward, ungodly, and worrisome thoughts.

We need His spirit to energize and motivate us throughout the day.

We just need a touch from the Master’s hand. Whether or not that fits into your broad definition of “salvation”, I don’t know.

But I do know we need Him.
