There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: Proverbs 6:16

Over the next few days I will be addressing each of the LORD’s six/seven detestable things. I’ve often wondered what God hated. I knew the general answer was “sin” but these are the specifics of those sins. Since we’re in the book of Proverbs, and Proverbs is a book of wisdom, we would do well to take note of the things that the LORD hates. After all, we do know what God loves as stated in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world…” It would also behoove us to hate the things that the LORD hates, because He hates them for good reasons. Often those reasons are obvious; sometimes not so obvious.

In an increasingly gray world, it is often difficult to distinguish between the black and the white. Fortunately, the next few verses will give us a clear distinction between the two.
