Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him—his name is the Lord. Psalm 68:4
The Book of Psalms is all about praise. A psalm is a sacred hymn or song. We have much to praise God about.
- Our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life (Revelation 17:8)
- Our sins have been atoned for (1 John 2:2)
- We have a counselor who knows our every need (John 14:16)
- God delights in us (Psalm 18:19)
- We are relatively free and are able to worship freely.
- We have shelter and food and clean water to drink.
- We have the Bible written in our language (with umpteen similar translations)
- We have an advocate with the Father in Heaven (John 15:26)
So you see, these are just a few things we can praise God about. Each day. Every day.
The sad part is that we could easily be replaced by a pile of rocks if we’re not careful.
