22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14) (which means “God with us”). Matthew 1:22-23
I know it’s all supposition, but what was the conversation like when the Trinity was deciding on the ultimate solution for mankind?
Of course we now know there was no other option than for God to become a man, but it always leads me to,
“Why? Why did they do it?
What was it about us that He would choose to become a man and put on human flesh?
He knew the splendors of heaven, so why leave that to come to what was essentially a dirty, disease-infested garbage can?
Why risk anything at all for us?
The questions keep coming.
We can only come up with two answers. One, he loved us (which brings us to another why), but ultimately, it was His nature to care for us and love us.
This Christmas when you consider the Christ child, think on these things. Know that all the answers lead to, He loved us enough to become one of us, a helpless, defenseless child.
