21 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand.

22 If anyone does not love the Lord, let that person be cursed! Come, Lord! 1 Corinthians 16:21-22

Verse 22 seems like a harsh and random statement, especially after such a long and instructional letter. It was more of a statement of what will happen, rather than a wish or a warning. The effect was the same because of its truth.

Christ will return soon.

That sentence alone should excite us and motivate us to love Him more and more. One day all this mess will be behind us. All the bitterness, disappointment, sorrow, pain, violence, grief, and evil will be gone.

Rejoice in the truth of His imminent return.
