In Distress or At the Peak

In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears. Psalm 18:6

Most of us, if we’re honest, have felt the desperation of calling out to God but not hearing anything in reply. It’s part of the normal human condition. Even David, the author of many of the psalms, had many moments like that – and he put it to music and poetry.

God meets us in our time of need.

In the roughest times or the most jubilant times.

In the depths of despair or on the mountain top ready to soar.

His responses may not look like we would expect, but He always comes through.

Through the weeping, through the cries for mercy, through the darkest of night, He is always there, always present, always caring for us.

As the song says, He’s as close as the mention of His name.
