When the righteous triumph, there is great elation; but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding. Proverbs 28:12

Twenty plus years after the fall of the Soviet Union, stories are still coming out about the persecuted church there. Stories are trickling out of Iran, Syria, and North Korea about people “going into hiding” because of their heavy-handed rulers.

It gives us yet another opportunity to pray for these two nations in particular. Iran is heating up in the Middle East and there will be problems there soon. There are a lot of unknowns about the new leader of North Korea but many suggest he is like his father. And daily we hear about the bloodshed in Syria.

Let’s pray for our fellow Believers in these three countries. They desperately need the protection and mercy of the Father despite their horrible circumstances. They also need the encouragement of knowing that they are not alone and that we haven’t forgotten them.
