In Pursuit of Politicians

14 As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze,
15 so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm. Psalm 83:14-15

Asaph used an interesting choice of words here. Fire is a symbol of the Holy Spirit in the Bible. Here he was referring to leaders and rulers. Could it be that it was his way of praying for them? Was he asking that the Holy Spirit pursue these leaders until they give in?

We all know and have heard the stories about leaders who make really poor decisions. Politicians just do not always have the general public in mind when they speak. Sometimes they have donors and lobbyists and special interests in mind but at the expense of voters who elect them.

There are any number of elected officials you can pray for.

Pick one, and then let them or those in their office know you’ve prayed for them. No need to go on about it, but just inform them that there are others praying for them as well.
