15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 1 Peter 3:15-16

The first thing that came to mind when I read this verse is, are people coming up to me to ask about the hope I have in me? Perhaps a broader question is, why would they? What would cause them to reach out to you and me like this?

The answer is simple really.

It’s Christ shining through us. It’s what we say (or don’t say), what we do (or don’t do), and our attitudes towards others. How are we different without being obnoxious or weird?
