as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12

The point is very well taken that he has blotted out our transgressions. The east and west never meet (unless in a circle). I suspect that some of us get caught up into the nuances of east and west, but the Psalm writer is clearly stating that our transgressions have been removed.

In theological terms, Christ became our righteousness. The One who knew no sin became sin for us.

Today, as you ponder these words, take a moment to praise Him for His incredible act of mercy. Though we can certainly speculate, we’ll leave His reasoning for doing this up to Him.
