It Takes Faith

4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. Acts 1:4

While He was still on earth, Jesus gave a command to His disciples that seemed to be a bit unusual. Most other commands were behavioral in nature, i.e., do this, don’t do this. This was more directional and only applied to the immediate Disciples. I’m sure they didn’t know what to expect when He gave this command. The command itself could have led to other questions: how long do I stay in Jerusalem? Where do I stay? What about our families?

Waiting in Jerusalem had to take faith because there were unanswered questions and unknown time frames to consider.

Faith is like that, isn’t it? We don’t know the future so we have to rely on God to lead us.

What is God leading you to do that requires faith in 2017?
