He who fears the LORD has a secure fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge. Proverbs 14:26

The writer of Proverbs throws out a very clear picture of what trusting in the Lord is about: a secure fortress.

In a fortress there is the community you can lean on, soft bedding you can sleep in, and normal food you can eat. You no longer have to worry about the enemy chasing you day after day. You have a humongous wall protecting you.

The Lord is that fortress. When we are weary, hungry, tired, and in need of replenishment, we go to Him. It really is that simple.
