Truly my soul finds rest in God;
my salvation comes from him. Psalm 62:1

Millions of people throughout the years have found rest for their souls in Jesus Christ. The rest they find is rooted in that salvation.

But there’s another rest too. We have a daily opportunity to lay it all before the Lord, because even in our Christian walk we can strive in ways we were never meant to. After a while we can think that the “works” we do are what pleases Him. In reality, though, the works are a byproduct of a life devoted to Christ. We don’t work because we have to but because we want to. When we lose sight of that is when our souls become weary and troubled. Burnout becomes real.

Today, if you do nothing else, learn this lesson. Take the time to rest in Him.

Just rest.
