Over the Net
Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. Psalm 62:6
The cornerstone of the Christian faith is belief in Christ as the salvation of our souls. That salvation is as firm as anything we could ever possible stand on. It’ll be tested and tried with everything that Satan has in his Bag of Deceit but it’ll hold up. It’s not going anywhere because of what is behind that salvation, Jesus Christ. That’s not to say that we won’t trip and stumble and fall on our heads occasionally but the salvation is as steady as the Savior Himself.
Would you once again rest in that knowledge? Too often we forget the most basic tenets of the faith. We don’t realize what the core foundation is. We throw in our own rules and hoops we need to jump through. We forget that our salvation is rock solid and immovable. It isn’t going anywhere, and neither is He.
Rest in that hope today.
(as an aside, I recognize that some reading this will bring up “well, what about those who walk away from the faith?” The short answer I would say is “I don’t know” and neither do you since we are not the final judge on the matter. There is Scripture on both sides of the discussion so I try not to concern myself with things I cannot control. Will I still pray for the person? Absolutely. Is that person still going to heaven with the way he is living, having deliberately walked away from God? Don’t know.)

good word – so much truth! To your aside – I would say that It occurs to me like this: if you have a nice big truck in your garage that can get you anywhere you need to go – in any weather – thereby keeping you safe whenever you need the assurance that you have a vehicle – would do you no good if you don’t believe or trust riding in trucks, right? Does that make sense?
