33 but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.
34 I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered. Psalm 89:33-34
Yesterday we discussed the sin and punishment of those who stray, but today is the other half of the equation: God’s never-ending love. A parent will shake his head at the boneheaded things his kid does, but he will always love him. It’s in the parent’s character to love unconditionally.
So, too, God saw the actions of David’s sons but loved them anyway. It’s in His character to do that.
Quite frankly, though, He see what we say and do now as Believers, and continues to love us anyway.
Why oh why?
It’s just who He is.
