Justice

It is not good to be partial to the wicked or to deprive the innocent of justice. Proverbs 18:5

Every day we encounter injustices, though most of the time they are minor injustices. Standing up for someone who was maligned or “bad-mouthed” is one such injustice. Not defending that person is an injustice. Maligning that person is also an injustice. This would be called minor injustices.

Major injustices also occur every day: rape, murder, and abuse are three such injustices. Unless we’ve witnessed the violation, we don’t have much input into meting out the justice. We can hope and pray that justice will be served.

If you read the Scripture at all, in particular the Old Testament, you will see justice played out in most situations. You also see injustice all around. God is very clear that He hates injustice. As should we.

Think of situations that you can help bring justice to. Devise a plan to tackle the minor injustices around you. It only takes one to make a difference.
