Justice

May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.
May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth.
May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. Psalm 67:3-5

Verse three and five sandwich in a verse with a lot of power. We don’t quite realize what would happen if God were to release his restraining Hand on the nations. Now some might argue that there is tremendous chaos in the world, and I might half agree. But what is chaos to you and me is not chaos to a well-ordered God. With seven billion people in the world and most have their own idea about what is right and wrong, there’s bound to be trouble.

God is still the supreme judge of the whole world. He will deal with how nations treat each other, how leaders treat each other, and how we treat one another.

So yes, we have reason to praise Him. Some of that justice is meted out in courts and by governments, but most will be dealt with at a later time of His choosing. We have yet to see perfect justice.

  1. amen – good read! One cannot conceivably read the book of Revelations and think that they have already been seeing God’s wrath just because we live in chaos – it’s just satan doing what we he can for his dying cause – but as they say, “you ain’t seen nothing yet,”
