The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him. Proverbs 20:7
If we were to take this verse at its face value, many would have a problem with it, because quite frankly the Bible clearly states elsewhere that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. In fact, we don’t need to do too much thinking about this to realize that none of us are blameless, so what gives?
This is all about character and integrity. Sure, you can pass down riches to your children, then what? What if they blow it all in a month, then what? What have you really left them? The righteous man, though, passes down character qualities that will last long after the money is gone.
Building legacy into someone else’s life is an intentional act. It will never be easy, but it will always be worth it.
