Let ‘Er Rip

Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the Lord. Psalm 27:6

David was known to do some very odd things while praising the Lord. I can’t know for sure but when he said “shouts of joy” I believe he shouted for joy!

When was the last time you just “let ‘er rip?” You know what I mean: shouting and singing and lifting hands and crying and just letting it all go.

But people will think I’m weird. So?
But people won’t understand. So?
But even the church folks will think it’s odd. So? (Seriously? In a church service?)

Perhaps we’re going about this the wrong way. Maybe the question could be, “will God be pleased if I shout and cheer and be brutally honest with my worship?”

Sometimes a shout for joy calls in our songs for a shout for joy even if no one else around you does it. And who knows, it could be contagious.
