Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Romans 12:17a

We feel a bit satisfied (albeit carnally) when we repay someone in the manner they hurt us. We may even feel justified in doing it. Those feelings exist and they are real. And they are wrong.

What else can be said about it? We can discuss all day long about why the verse was written and its intentions, but it’s still a clear teaching for us.

What do we do instead? Walk away. Ignore it. Pray that God gives you the strength to just “let it go.”
