I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalm 32:8

Picture, if you will, a father sitting his son down and instructing him. The tone of voice, the words he uses, the smiles he gives. They all point to a loving father wanting the absolute best for his child. He knows the potential pitfalls so he tells him. Will the son listen? Perhaps, but not always. The father also knows the rewards that await the child on the other end if the son’s been obedient.

Throughout Psalms and Proverbs (and quite honestly throughout the whole of Scripture) God has been revealing life-changing wisdom to His children. We can absorb as much or as little of it as we choose. It’s there for the taking. We know the wisdom to be perfect and we also know the Father heart of God, but will we heed it?

It’s a choice we need to make every day, and quite possibly many times during the day.
