The lips of the wise spread knowledge; not so the hearts of fools. Proverbs 15:7
How I wish this phrase was my motto growing up: when I grow up I want to be wise.
- The wise are careful how they disseminate their knowledge. They are not ones to waste their breath on people who are not receptive. However, when they do find willing “receptors,” they are not shy in disseminating that wisdom.
- The wise are always analyzing what they say and how they say it for they know that it is easy for words to be misconstrued.
- The wise know the power that words can have, both to heal and to destroy.
- The wise will never flaunt that wisdom; it’s just not in their character to boast that way.
