Look Up and Ask

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.

As we saw with Israel, so we experience firsthand God’s compassion and grace.

  • We experience compassion when time and again He cajoles us to Come to Him.
  • He knows our burdens even greater than we do.
  • He knows our suffering even greater than we do.
  • He also knows our thoughts and motives better than we do.

But when He beckons us to throw all our cares on Him, we think we can handle them better.

It’s as if He’s standing by the door in a room with his arms folded and shaking His head while we sit by ourselves like little kids trying to force that square object in the round hole.

He stands there watching and waiting for us to ask.

If only we’d look up and ask!
