An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning will not be blessed at the end. Proverbs 20:21
Ever see how quickly a lottery winner wastes the millions he has won? Sure we’ve seen dozens of them. In fact, someone who is set for life after winning the lottery is a rare sight. But why do you think they blow all of their money within two years?
That’s easy. When your only goal in life is to be rich, what happens after you become rich? You spend like you’re invincible, like you could never lose again. Essentially you haven’t built up along the way to taste what you’re now tasting. When it’s thrown into your lap, you’re like a little kid in the candy store. You think the sugar will never end.
Also, when you win so much money quickly, your friends and long lost relatives come out of the woodwork. You meet second cousins and step-relatives three times removed all because of a few million dollars. Again, had you built up that amount over time, no one would have ever noticed until you showed up to a reunion driving a fancy car.
