“Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.” John 16:25-28

As Believers we often forget that God loves us, even though we are quick to recite John 3:16 to others. But that verse plus the singling out in verse 27 makes it clear that God loves those who love His son. Yes, He has an overarching love for all of humanity, but Jesus points out that He loves us specifically.

If you had that thought in the back of your mind throughout the day, how would it change you?

• Would you say insult that other driver?
• Would you gossip about your co-worker?
• Would you be harsh with your spouse or children?
• Would you follow through with that little white lie?
• Would you smile more often?

The simple and encouraging truth is this: God the Father loves us.
