Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High. Psalm 50:14
In a couple of days, we’ll formally celebrate Thanksgiving in the United States. Big meals with all their fixings, big gatherings, relaxation, games, sports, a time of reflection, and then of course shopping the next day.
Psalm 50 tells us that thanksgiving is a sacrifice. It’s a sacrifice because we don’t always take the time to be grateful.
Begin now to make a list of what you’re thankful.
Go beyond the usual things like family and friends. Stretch yourself.
What has God done in your life lately?
What are you grateful for?
Take some time to reflect before the food starts cooking and the people start gathering.
Give it some extra thought this holiday.
