14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

2 Peter 3:14

Similar to what Paul said in Philippians 2:12 “continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,” so Peter reminds us that while our salvation in Christ is secure, we ought to to make every effort to please Him through Godly and holy living. Nothing we could do will earn us salvation – including being good in our behavior – but living blameless, spotless, and peaceful lives pleases God.

We are grateful for new life in Christ and pleasing Him should be in every thought and action. Of course, it’s much easier said than done, but it doesn’t have to be.
