4 Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them,
5 that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may share in the joy of your nation and join your inheritance in giving praise. Psalm 106:4-5
Everyone knows what the Psalmist is trying to do: it’s sort of a reminder to God – as if He really needs it! – to not overlook him when God blesses.
We all like to be noticed, and the writer is merely pointing this out.
Of course we know that God notices us. Not only that but He delights in us (Psalm 18:19).
If you think about it, it’s a humbling thought to realize that God Almighty delights in us and cares about us.
Why?
It’s just the character of God to “motivates” him to do it. No other explanation makes sense.
