A man cannot be established through wickedness, but the righteous cannot be uprooted. Proverbs 12:3
In the first half of this verse contrasted with the latter, Solomon is almost drawing an analogy to building your moral and spiritual foundation on shifting sand. The ungodly often lose their moral bearings when they are left to their own devices. They want to get ahead (which isn’t too far from what Christians in the West want) and they will do what it takes to get there. But when all is said and done, and at the end of a long day, those people (as do we) still must look in the mirror to see for themselves who they really are. They must lie down to consider what they’ve done to get to where they are and what they had to do to get there.
What about you? How’s your mirror gazing these days?
What do you see when you look beyond the dress and makeup? Do you like what you’re becoming? What do you see when you peer into those eyes?
