Miserable

Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger
    or discipline me in your wrath.
2 Your arrows have pierced me,
    and your hand has come down on me.
3 Because of your wrath there is no health in my body;
    there is no soundness in my bones because of my sin.
4 My guilt has overwhelmed me
    like a burden too heavy to bear. Psalm 38:1-4

King David knows what’s it’s like to live under the blessing of God. He also knows what it’s like to live with that blessing removed. He speaks for all of us because we know the joys and pains of both.

Perhaps you or someone you know is experiencing that pain. You don’t know their situation, but you can see the pain in their eyes and by what they say.

The Lord is probably dealing with them on something. Pray that they will obey His leading. Don’t let up until that joy is back in their eyes.
