He who ignores discipline comes to poverty and shame, but whoever heeds correction is honored. Proverbs 13:18

This verse is one of many that address the characteristics of slothfulness and laziness, both of which are probably by-products of a lack of discipline.

Many reading this would love to be working right now, but cannot find it or do not have the “skillset” to start a business and keep it going (and those are very different skillsets, I understand that completely). Not only that, it takes money to do it. Raising money, starting a business, doing something that is risky (like raising money for a startup business), all of those may not be your “cup of tea” and I understand that. And coming from experience, if you’re not careful you can jump to the newest and greatest “make money online” scheme that the online “gurus” tout. There are plenty of honest programs out there alongside the thousands of others that aren’t so honest. So what do you do?

Obviously only you can decide what’s best for you and your family, but now’s a good time to “cross-train.” What are you passionate about? What do you like to do? Ever thought about learning how to program? What about teaching? What about writing articles for online marketers (by the way, this particular job is in HIGH demand and is legitimate in the online world). Freelancer.com is one site that is helpful in that area. Two other sites are worth mentioning: fiverr.com and tenbux.com. Essentially, “what are you willing to do for five dollars or ten dollars?” as the names imply. Don’t laugh. You’d be surprised at the things that others would pay you to do.

I know I’ve said too much already about this. Write me if you want more information about what I’ve written. I have a good idea of what works and what doesn’t. I say all of that to say this, I know it’s difficult looking for work and beating down doors, but there is something out there for you.
