New Things Jitters

He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:5

In the few days leading up to the New Year, it’s always a good idea to reflect on what has happened over the course of the year. Is it what you expected? Did you have any expectations at all about it? What were some of the challenges that you had to overcome? What were some of your failures?

In the future, the verse in the devotional will come true. Those challenges and failures? They will be all for naught. The heaven and earth that Jesus speaks of in the Book of Revelation will be a kazillion times more significant and meaningful than what we’re experiencing now in this world. It will be an exciting (and perhaps a bit anxious) time for all of us (much like when you see a long lost relative for the first time in years – you really don’t know what to expect, and often, it’s much better than the jitters you had beforehand).
