Turn to me and have mercy on me; show your strength in behalf of your servant; save me, because I serve you just as my mother did. Psalm 86:16
We’ve read about Jesse, David’s father, but what about his mother? Her name was Nitzevet, and while not mentioned in the Bible by name, she was mentioned in the Talmud: Nitzevet. From David’s words here we understand that she must have been a Godly woman. Nitzevet is certainly not a “household” word like David is. She was an unsung hero, much like millions who lived before her and millions after her. The countless hours these men and women of God put in through prayer, teaching, training, and Godly living certainly makes the world a better place.
I suspect everyone reading this fits into that same category. You don’t have your name in the spotlight and is not known among the masses. You haven’t changed the world with your inventions and ideas. People in your town may not even know who you are.
But your faithfulness is known and seen by God. He knows every ounce of energy you’ve put in to serving Him as you serve others.
Be encouraged. Stay strong. Let nothing move you. 1 Corinthians 15:58
