5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. Psalm 91:5-6
I am amazed (and humbled) when I see Believers who stand strong in their faith even when they are kneeling to be executed.
The chorus to Steven Curtis Chapman’s song “What Kind of Joy is This?” sums it up:
What kind of joy is this
That counts it a blessing to suffer?
What kind of joy is this
That gives the prisoner his song?
What kind of joy could stare death in the face
And see it as sweet victory?
This is the joy of a soul that’s forgiven and free
The Middle East is in complete turmoil, and our Brothers and Sisters are in need of prayer there. Many face imprisonment, deportation, or even death. Every week we hear stories about those who have been martyred for their faith. Syria, Iraq, and Iran all come to mind.
Pray for Believers in one of those countries. Dig up stories about how they stood strong in their faith.
Pray like their lives depended on it, because quite often it does.
