25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame. Genesis 2:25
This verse is short but relevant. It’s actually a shadowing of things to come. There wouldn’t be any shame in their nakedness because there was nothing to be ashamed about. It seems obvious.
It certainly doesn’t give us a license to parade around others in a nudist colony. After all, Adam only had and needed Eve, and vice versa. They didn’t need to see others naked. We’ll learn quickly, however, why they began to feel shame, and how it has caused turmoil throughout the centuries. What God meant for good, the evil one perverted and twisted into something profane.
The marriage bed is still confined to one man and one woman, and is not dependent on the whims of a society that has lost its moral compass. God still honors that marriage covenant and the couple today should also feel no shame in each other’s presence.
