The righteous will never be uprooted, but the wicked will not remain in the land. Proverbs 10:30
In that same storm I described yesterday I was observing a very tall pine tree. It towers sixty feet straight up before you see any branches. This week, though, that tree swayed under the heavy wind. Back and forth, side to side. If it would have come down, it would have easily taken out several apartments in the complex no matter the direction of the fall.
But it didn’t.
I don’t know this for sure because I cannot see into the ground, but I suspect underneath that tree is a vast array of roots that continue to grow and hold onto the earth, pretty much the way God designed it. The tree did not fall because of those roots.
Our righteousness is found in Christ, and we will never be uprooted. A massive hurricane could come and uproot the tree, but we will never be uprooted.
Encourage one another with this truth today.
