11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, Colossian 1:11
I’m returning to this verse because we didn’t discuss the most important part of it: strength.
It’s not merely strength-for-the-day kind of strength. When you have the power of the Almighty God giving you strength, now that’s some kind of power!
Let me step back for a second though. When we pray, we normally do not know how God works in it. In other words, when we pray for protection around someone we love, we don’t know how God engineers situations in that person’s life to actually answer that prayer. He could literally move 1000 situations around to make this happen. Same goes with peace, wisdom, patience, and even strength. How He does it and to what length He goes to do it is still a great mystery.
So, when you pray for someone to be wise in situations, one of the “byproducts” is strength, something from His glorious might.
Be confident, then, that when you pray for someone, God will move heaven and earth, as they say, to make it happen. Plus He’ll give that person an extra helping of strength as a bonus.
