Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life. Proverbs 4:13
If you haven’t guessed already, I really like being in the presence of what I call “old-timers.” They know who they are and even like the term now. Old-timers can be men or women but the one thing they have in common is age. Actually, they also have grace on their side. I say that because they’ve been seasoned for most if not all of life’s storms. They’ve been through it all.
We do ourselves a huge injustice when we don’t spend more time with these “old-timers.” They’ve gone before us; they know the pitfalls. They can instruct us.
And when you do manage to garner a nugget of wisdom, do as the verse says, “guard it well, for it is your life.”
