Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. Romans 13:8
The previous verse stated that if you owed someone something, you needed to repay it. This verse is the exception. I find that loving the unlovable or the unlovely is a difficult task, but that’s the point, isn’t it?
1 John 4:20-21 speaks to this. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
Today you will probably have a chance to love someone you consider unlovable. Do it.
