A ruler who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no crops. Proverbs 28:3
It’s good to know that there were very bad and oppressive rulers in Biblical times. The years have changed but people haven’t. There are good rulers and bad rulers, good people and bad people. The good people try to displace the bad rulers when they get an opportunity. Sometimes blood is shed to replace the rulers.
There are regimes around the world that are bent on oppressing the poor in order to control them. For example, white farmers in Zimbabwe are now being oppressed and driven out of their farms by Robert Mugabe even though at one time they were doing quite well for themselves. Mugabe took them from being wealthy by today’s standards to being poor.
Pray for Zimbabwe. Pray for the Believers who must endure policies that are oppressive and unfair.
