13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14
The road is narrow, rocky, full of potholes, dangers, pitfalls, trials, and enemies. In fact, you could lose your life going down this road. The end of the road is not clearly seen when you look from the divergence of the narrow and wide roads, but it become clearer the long you walk the narrow path.
The wide road is full of enticing and entertaining people and events. It too is full of many of the same dangers but those are more subtle. You can’t see the end of the road because you don’t want to, and if you did, you just might choose the other road. You can hop onto the narrow road any time during your journey, but you don’t see the benefits right away.
Let’s face it, the road we have chosen to walk down is not at all easy. Many who have gone before us will testify to that, but those same people will also tell you that it was well worth the switch. Many of you reading this are at a place where you can certainly testify to the path being the absolute right one to be on.
Hang in there, dear friends.
God is still in control of the world despite the rumblings and roars from the masses over this issue or that.
Rejoice for your redemption is nearer than any time in history.
