For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written:
“Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles;
I will sing the praises of your name.”
Again, it says,
“Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.”
“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles;
let all the peoples extol him.”
And again, Isaiah says,
“The Root of Jesse will spring up,
one who will arise to rule over the nations;
in him the Gentiles will hope.” Romans 15:8-12
I am about to write what may be the understatement of the decade: God loves Israel. He will do whatever it takes to draw them to Himself. We can debate the whys and the whatfors until eternity but the Bible is clear: there is a special place in God’s heart for Israel.
As I write this Israel is on the verge of war with Hamas and other factions. For weeks Syria and Hamas have been lobbing missiles into Israel, and Israel has tried to retaliate while explaining to the world that they’re merely defending themselves. No matter. In the world’s eyes, Israel is the “meanie.”
Would you pray for the peace of Jerusalem today. We certainly do not know the intricacies of what is going on but we do sense something big is about to happen. Pray also that our leaders would see and recognize the need to back one of the true allies the United States has in that region.
