Pleading the Case

6 Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered. Psalm 108:6

The psalmist “reminds” the Lord of his strength (right hand) and His love, not that He needs reminding. The Israelites got into trouble quite often, and many of these psalms were pleas for deliverance.

In fact, the cycle was quite common: 1) the children of Israel sinned, 2) prophets and writers acknowledged that sin and asked for deliverance, 3) God delivered.

Would God have delivered them if nobody had pleaded with God on their behalf? Would the Lord have totally destroyed Israel if their sin had gone too far because nobody interceded on their behalf? It’s doubtful for both questions. But what’s not doubtful at all is that someone body did plead with God. Somebody did take the time to ask God to have mercy.

I’ve said this dozens of times in this space, but you may still be the only person pleading with God about one specific person in this world. Continue pleading your case despite not seeing results.
