17 pray continually, 1 Thessalonians 5:17
This passage is certainly turning out to be the sensible practices of the Christian life.
I had a professor in Bible school that modeled this verse. He’d look around the room nodding his head, then stop and ask you about something you brought up a month ago. You just know he was praying for the right words to say to the right people.
That’s the spirit of this verse. It requires us to listen a bit more to others and the Spirit, and to be wise about what we say. It’s certainly a learned skill because it doesn’t come naturally. As with many things in life, we learn how to do it by doing it.
