The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him. Proverbs 15:8
Want to know what pleases God? Look no further than this verse: praying and being upright. Obviously there are two key ingredients to this, and on the surface of it they’re not all that difficult to achieve.
The praying is easy when we want it to be. We carve out time and do it. Period. It’s not complicated.
Walking upright is a little more challenging because it’s a little harder to define. Yes we are sinners saved by grace and by the blood of Jesus, and on our own we can do no good. However, “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8
I think deep down we know what walking upright means, frail and weak as we are. For us it too is a matter of just doing it.
