[Pursue] love, 1 Timothy 6:11e

Love is talked about throughout the Bible. Why do you think that is? At least two reasons come to mind. It’s something God wants us to do, and we need to be constantly reminded to do it.

Let’s face it, it’s not easy to love someone and never has been, especially when they are not lovely people. People are messy and do not-so-lovely things. We’re messy. When we get involved in people’s lives, it’s just a messy deal all around.

And yet, we are commanded to love others and to pursue love.

Each of us have people in our lives that are not loveble. But we are to continue trying to love them. Most of the time we’ll need the Holy Spirit to assist us. Whoever that person is, don’t give up. Look for creative and subtle ways to love.
