Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him. Matthew 4:11
Jesus, as the Son of God and by His own admission, has legions of angels at his disposal with a snap of His fingers (Matthew 26:53).
For these temptations, however, He was on His own, doing exactly as the Father commanded.
He had just fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. He was physically, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted. As angels in the Old Testament did to some of the prophets (1 Kings 19:5-8), so they brought Jesus food, comfort, and encouragement. What that looked like or how long it lasted is anybody’s guess.
As the end of the shelter-in-place recommendations are coming to an end, many are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Still, you’ve been cooped up with family for six weeks. Tensions and anxieties are bound to be on the rise. Your only communication with the outside world might have been through a Zoom meeting or a telephone conversation. Send some words of encouragement to those you know. We all need it regularly and you can’t encourage people often enough.
Be the ministering angels to those who need the relief.
