Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers, 2 older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity. 1 Timothy 5:1-2

These instructions were given in the context of church leadership, bu it has applications outside the church as well. It’s about respect and decency. In fact, you could probably make a case that it’s necessary to treat both men and women like this. It’s quite easy to get caught up in political discussion that degrade and humiliate people. You can certainly be opposed to certain political decisions that are made. We just don’t need to disrespect individuals with our harsh words.

Remember who you are and where you came from.
Remember who bought and paid for you with His blood.
Remember that we are ambassadors of Christ.
