Laziness brings on deep sleep, and the shiftless man goes hungry. Proverbs 19:15

The literal meaning of this verse is obvious: laziness will slowly destroy you. But looking at this verse through spiritual eyes gives us deeper meaning and insight.

Let me be to the point: what have you done with and for Christ lately? Have you been busy serving Him, proclaiming Him every day, and helping to flood the Kingdom with new Believers?

Most of us in the West might say we’re serving Him in our own way, and that may be true, but often we become lazy in that service. We barely muster up strength to serve, and when we do it’s with little enthusiasm. I’m afraid many of us have fallen into a deep sleep, but we hunger to even get that desire back.

Take steps today to regain that enthusiasm, to rekindle that flame you once had when you were new in the faith. Think through what stopped you in the first place and reverse course. It really is that easy.
