Robin Hood

12 I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor
and upholds the cause of the needy.
13 Surely the righteous will praise your name,
and the upright will live in your presence. Psalm 140:12-13

Throughout history, the poor have been mistreated by the wealthy because they really didn’t have a “voice.” Much of the world still operates under those rules. You see it in the West. Just look at all the superhero-type shows: the superhero takes from the wealthy and powerful, and gives to a very worthy cause. Yeh! Twenty-first century Robin Hood.

We know that this rarely happens in real life. Bad guys stay out of prison because they were able to hire great lawyers and pay off a judge or two. When the truly innocent go up against such a corrupt system, they don’t stand a chance.

We know that in the end the wicked will get their due, and the righteous will be rewarded.

Until then we have to live in the system we have. We try to reform the system a little here and a little there but nothing major gets changed, primarily because the rich and powerful don’t want it to change.

But still we continue helping people where and when we can. Even if it seems like a huge uphill battle, we fight corrupt and unfair systems when we see them.

It’s what we have to do.
